Hotels are in great demand and its demand is ever increasing. People who are out of station or needs a recreation always are in search of a good hotel. There is not a big difference between a good and bad hotel. Every hotel wants to prepare best food and want to give best service. Don’t get confused by good and bad hotels. You can not say that only seven star or five star hotels are good one. Haven’t you realized sometimes that a seven star hotel seems to be taking more money and is seldom visited by people? Yes you must have gone through such situation. You might have found a cheaper hotel better. You might have become angry sometimes while visiting a seven star hotel and landed in a three star hotel and find it’s to be great. I must tell you that a hotel steels the status of good hotel due to its employees. Yes a hotel with more stars is great but can you guess why? It’s only because they are run by a good management and better employees. There is really a very tough competition between different hotels. And so is among the employees.

Requirements:
You can enter in hotel management by directly doing a graduation degree in hotel management. The better you will perform during your course the better opportunity will be given to you. You must remember that there is a very tough competition among hotels. And only the best can survive.

Opportunities:
You cannot say that you lack opportunity if you are in this field. According to a survey there is one hotel every one kilometer in US. The people are also very found of dining in hotel and eat new food items. In an average there were around 1.7 million jobs in hotel management in US in 2007. It’s really going to increase by the end of 2008. Believe me that hotel management is one among the few fields which has not been affected by down share markets. Be assured that this field is evergreen. Off coarse no person can stop eating.

4. Marketing.

Major employers of hotel management professionals:
Some of the major employers of hotel management professionals are five star and seven star hotels and in fact all big hotels, Airlines travels and tour agencies, Hotel management training institutes, Clubs, Catering departments of clubs and Cruise ship hotels.

And so on.  You have really great future with hotel management. It’s really an evergreen and glamorous field. I must also convey you that if you join this field then you are really there with a great chance of being self employed.
